Along with the development of a quality road network in Rupandehi, the business center of Lumbini province, lane discipline will be taught for a week to reduce vehicle accidents. A week-long public awareness program has been started under the leadership of the district administration and in coordination with the traffic police with the slogan 'My Ride, My Lane'.

Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal started the program at Belhia in Bhairahawa on Wednesday morning by sticking a sticker on the bus with the slogan about lane discipline. After the launch of

Home Secretary Aryal said that the number of vehicles on the road has increased with urbanization, but accidents will increase if drivers do not follow lane discipline, so such an awareness program will teach citizens to follow lane discipline.

"Programs conducted with the participation of citizens are effective," Home Secretary Aryal said, "not only the administration, the police, but also the organizations here must join hands to make it effective."

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal said that the program was conducted in coordination between the district administration, district police and traffic police. He said that in coordination with the organizations in the district, public awareness programs will be conducted on the streets every day.

Although there are wide roads in the district, he said that if drivers do not follow lane discipline, accidents increase and traffic becomes chaotic. He said that the program was organized to solve such problems and to explain the importance of lanes to citizens. He said that the district administration has gathered financial and technical resources for the program. District Traffic Police Chief Inspector Bajir Singh Bista, who coordinated the

lane discipline program, said that public awareness programs will be conducted every day with the participation of students, civic organizations, media workers, mothers' groups, toll committees, industrialists, and businessmen on the main roads and busy intersections of the district. Bista informed that district traffic is coordinating by making a plan on what day to conduct what kind of program.

'A plan has been made about which day, where, how and what kind of program will be conducted,' he said, 'We have corresponded with the local people for coordination, I have reached some places myself and coordinated.'
