The businessmen of Rupandehi have collected blood money to save the life of a person from Janakpur of Dhanusha who was sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia. After the amount was not collected as per the demand of the victim, 30 businessmen of the district gathered support.

According to the district administration office, Durga Prasad Sharma of Kanchan rural municipality-4 of Rupandehi died due to a dispute between his friend who worked in the same company and lived with him in Saudi Arabia. Ramashis Yadav of Janakpur Municipality-17 of Dhanusha was arrested on the charge of murdering his friend by stabbing him in the kitchen.

The Saudi Arabian court sentenced Yadav to five years in prison after finding him guilty in the incident on September 6, 2018.
