Makwanpur district court has decided to sentence a young man to 15 years of imprisonment for raping a girl who was related to him. The court ruled to pay compensation of 5 lakh rupees to the girl who was victimized by the young man and to impose a fine of 20,000 rupees.
The bench of District Judge Purnima Koirala passed the decision by adjudging a 25-year-old youth whose name has been changed to 31 (A) of Hetauda sub-metropolis-15 for raping a 14-year-old girl.
The court said that the bench decided to give 15 years imprisonment for 13 years for raping a woman and 2 more years for raping a girl child. The young man was arrested by the police in October 2079 and presented to the court on the charge of raping a girl who was related to him. In Kartik 2079, the court sent the young man to the regional jail Bhimfedi for pretrial detention.
