Minister of Culture, Tourism and Cooperatives of Wagmati Province, Bimal Thakuri, has moved to a hotel after a fire broke out in his residence at Hetaunda-9.
The fire broke out in the meeting hall on the upper floor of the minister's residence due to a short circuit in the electric wire on Sunday at 7:40 pm.
Minister Thakuri said that when he reached his residence and was resting, a spark came from the electrical switch board. Minister Thakuri said that the carpet and some electronic items were burnt in the fire.
According to the police, four inverter batteries, 1 inverter power supply box, 1 internet router, carpets and rugs, gypsum boards were damaged in the fire.
Since the state government has not yet built a permanent structure in Hetaunda, other ministers and secretaries are living in rented rooms at different places.
