The police have arrested one person who beat up the monk and robbed him. 20-year-old Aditya Shrestha of Mechi municipality-9 of Jhapa was arrested by the police.

Shrestha beat the 84-year-old monk Gunaghosh of the Buddhist Vihara at Bhimsen place in Dhulikhel Municipality-7 of Kavre on August 6 and pulled a cloth over his mouth, Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Shrestha informed that they were tied up with ropes and even cash was stolen.

According to him, as soon as the police were informed about the incident, the injured was sent to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment and he is currently being treated in the same hospital. Aditya, who was involved in theft after beating, was arrested from Hotel Hills Haven located in Dhulikhel Municipality-7 on August 7. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrestha said.

The police said that one lakh 65 thousand 890 rupees were recovered from him.
