Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city has started an eye examination program in all 19 wards of the city, saying that due to chronic diseases, there may be problems in the retina of the eye.

Under the management of Hetaunda Community Eye Hospital and Town Development Organization City Coordinating Committee, the eye screening program has been started for diabetic patients and 50-year-old residents in all wards of the city. City chief Meenakumari Lama inaugurated the eye examination program started from Hetaunda-ؘ19 Sannanitar on Tuesday, saying that eye problems can occur due to diabetes and age. The camp was conducted in three locations of Ward No. 19 is.

The head of the city, Lama, said that she has launched an eye examination program targeting the increasing number of chronic patients in the city on a daily basis. She said that the vice-metropolitan has adopted a policy of visiting different places in all 19 wards in the city to get information about eye conditions and help in treatment. She said that the program has been taken to the ward level to eliminate the problem of going to the hospital for those who are uncomfortable walking from home.

The purpose of the camp to reach the wards is to identify the eye condition of the city dwellers and provide help for treatment. For the camps to be conducted in the wards, the sub-metropolis has supported the hospital with an eye examination machine. During the

program, Dr. Sunil Thakali, head of the Community Eye Hospital, said that through the camp, information will be given about eye problems such as sugar and pressure. He said that based on the data of patients coming to the hospital, the camp was conducted in collaboration with the sub-metropolitan city because there are a large number of patients with eye problems due to chronic diseases.

It was informed that the camp was conducted to save the expenses for the treatment due to the lack of eye test and help to get the treatment on time. On the first day of the camp, 90 people have been tested for eye curtain. Out of those who came to the camp, 20 patients had eye problems due to diabetes, Sudhir Bhadra, the head of administration of the Community Eye Hospital informed.
