One-way traffic on the VP highway has come into operation since mid-day on Saturday after the landslide along with the Kamerephant area was removed. The VP highway was blocked from Saturday morning due to landslides that fell after continuous rains.
Traffic is blocked due to a big landslide with stones in Golanjore Rural Municipality-6 Akkare Bhir of Chalinpahari Lokmarg. According to the police, work is being done to remove the landslide that fell in Fikkal Rural Municipality-2 Sumnamwensi of Madhyapahari.
Due to the blocking of two major highways, the vehicles traveling to and from Kathmandu from the eastern hill districts of Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Udaipur and Terai are stuck on the road.
Sindhuli police chief SP Govindraj Kafle has suggested not to travel except for urgent work as there is a risk of landslides and accidents on any part of the road due to continuous rain.
