Surendra Bhandari has been elected as the President of Janakpur Industry and Commerce Association. He won with 1,644 votes. He is supported by UML.
Bhandari has defeated Congress-backed presidential candidate Manishaman Shah. Sah got 1 thousand 572 votes . Shah was the Senior Vice President of Janakpur Industry and Commerce Association.
In the previous elections, Sah had defeated Bhandari in the position of senior vice-president. Similarly, Jitendra Prasad Sah, another candidate for the post of president, has got 288 votes. 64 votes have been invalidated for the position of chairman.
The voting for the new leadership of the Janakpur Trade Association was held late on Saturday. Counting of votes has started from Sunday morning. 3 thousand 572 votes were cast in the voting till late evening on Saturday. There are 4 thousand 65 voters of Janakpur Industry and Commerce Association.
According to the election committee, the votes of the president, senior vice president and female vice president have been counted in the first phase. In the second phase, the votes of the general secretary, secretary, treasurer and members will be counted .
