The electricity substation that was prepared two years ago at Haripurva in Sarlahi has not yet been put into operation. The substation could not be put into operation due to a dispute over burying the pole.

The substation has been stalled for two years due to a long-standing dispute over the burying of electricity poles in the Haripurva market area and Srinagar Maharani market area of Ishwarpur.

Consumers of this area are forced to bear the problem when the electricity substation that was built is not operational. There is a problem here that when electricity is brought from Malangwa, the headquarters, due to the long transmission line, the electricity goes out every now and then, there is no voltage, and during the rains, the electricity is interrupted throughout the day. Mukesh Jha of Hariporwa municipality-5 expressed his sorrow that the consumers here are suffering from problems such as power outages for hours due to common problems.

"Consumers here are shocked by the problem of power going out in a flash, when there is a general problem, there is no electricity for hours," he said, "when the substation came into operation, the common consumers would get relief."

The head of Nepal Electricity Authority Regional Office Janakpur, Munindra Thakur, informed that after solving the dispute about the place of burying the pole, they are preparing for the operation of the substation. According to him, the work of burying the pole and pulling the wire has been completed. "Now the contractor is testing the machines installed two years ago and changing them if they are damaged," he said.

After the substation at Haripurva is operational, the technicians said that electricity supply will be regular in Haripurva and Ishwarpur Municipalities and Parsa, Brahampuri and Chandranagar Rural Municipality in the eastern-southern region of the district and the voltage problem will also be solved. The 33 KV line has been taken to the substation at Haripurva via Srinagar, Vasantpur from the East-West highway.
