Government is committed to conservation of biological diversity along with tourism in Koshi Tappu: Chief Minister Singh

He met Chief Minister Singh at the office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Madhesh Province in Janakpurdham and discussed the issues of construction of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and wildlife rescue center in the intermediate area, tourism development and livelihood improvement management. Two one-horned rhinoceros four-year-old Pushpa and three-year-old Anjali have been brought from the Chitwan National Reserve to the Reserve's Wildlife Rescue Center. A staging area has been created in an area of ​​three hectares around the rescue center for both the rhinos that were brought in October last year. In this place near the river Triyuga, it has been arranged that the rhinos can be fed water and can play.

The conservation workers have told Chief Minister Singh that it is necessary to increase the area for the rhino phase and expand the grassland and build structures according to different species. Jung Bahadur Khadka, chairman of the intermediate zone management committee, said that after the construction of cages and other structural works in the reserve, tiger management will be possible, and from that, jungle safaris will start in the Tappu area for rhinos as well as tigers, and tourism in that area will accelerate.

The government of Nepal declared the intermediate zone in the year 2061 with the aim of improving their living standards by directly participating in the protection of the communities around the reserve. The intermediate area has been declared by adding 173 square kilometers to the 175 square kilometers of the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, which is the only wildlife reserve in Nepal, which was established in 2003. Along with Sunsari and Udaipur in the intermediate region, there is also Saptari district of Madhesh province.

The government of Madhesh province has allocated 75 lakh rupees for the rescue center to be built for the rescue, treatment and management of orphaned, helpless, disabled, injured and problematic wildlife and to nurture the rescued wildlife and release them in their natural habitat. Chief Minister Singh said that the state government is serious about the protection and management of forest animals and has assured the conservationists that the government will make every possible effort for the construction of rescue centers and development of tourism in the intermediate areas.

Conservationists expect the construction of physical structures such as buildings, treatment rooms, enclosures, scaffolds, post-mortem rooms, water ponds for wildlife, walls and fences for the security of the center premises in the intermediate area.
