Human rights workers active in Madhesh province have brought the attention of Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh to advance the two bills related to protection and protection of human rights defenders and Martyrs Foundation.
Human rights activists met Chief Minister Singh at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Janakpur on Wednesday and demanded that the Madhesh Martyrs Foundation include only the martyrs and wounded of the Madhesh and other movements and to include the martyrs, wounded and conflict victims of other times within the scope of the organization. They also urged Chief Minister Singh to advance the law on the protection and protection of human rights defenders.
They drew the attention of Chief Minister Singh to pass both bills quickly saying that the drafts of both the laws have been discussed at various stages and have taken their final form and some legal processes have also gone ahead.
Chief Minister Singh said that the bill will be forwarded by sending both the bills to the relevant ministries and agencies for further amendments in the draft law.
