A memorandum has been submitted to Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh on Sunday protesting the preparations being made to set up a solar plant on an 82-bigha mango orchard in Bateshwar of Dhanusha. Through a memorandum, the leaders of Bateshwar region requested not to clear mango orchards for the solar plant.

While understanding the memorandum, Chief Minister Singh said that an initiative is being taken to provide riverside land for solar plants instead of mango orchards. He said that the provincial government is serious about sustainable forest management by planting trees, reducing greenhouse gas emissions to increase benefits from forests.

A 50 megawatt capacity solar plant is being set up by massaging the 82 bigha mango orchard in Bateshwar. The locals are protesting against that. Chief Minister Singh told activists including Fulgen Magahi, who submitted a letter of attention to the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Janakpur, that homework is being done on the issue of giving land to the river rising from the agricultural purpose for solar plant .

'There is a problem because the solar plant has to be at a certain distance from the national transmission grid. However, a solution to this will also be sought, he said. Chief Minister Singh said that the government is doing the necessary infrastructure development for the promotion of the pocket sector of mangoes in the state and has instructed the Ministry of Land Management and Agriculture to do the necessary work for management of irrigation through electrification of agriculture and deep boring in Bateshwar area and management of cold store for mango storage.

In the memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Singh, the state government has been requested to target mango farmers, build cold stores, Nilgai management, sample pocket areas in Bateshwar rural municipality and provide subsidies to farmers and special subsidies for mango cultivation, irrigation and market management. ;.
