The Bar Association has expressed its solidarity with the ongoing movement demanding the construction of a bridge over the Kamala River at the border of Siraha and Dhanush under the postal road, which is considered the lifeline of Madhesh.

Siraha District Court Bar Association issued a statement on Wednesday and expressed solidarity. The association has also announced that it will participate in the movement, stating that it has drawn attention to the ongoing movement for the bridge in Kamala.

Similarly, the association has appealed to the state and federal government to address the demands of the ongoing movement as soon as possible, accusing the state of being indifferent to the prosperity of Madhesh.

Association Siraha's President Advocate Madan Sah and Secretary Gopi Prasad Singh in the press release also mentioned that the development of Madhesh is being blocked due to the discriminatory behavior of the state. The locals and stakeholders of Siraha have been on hunger strike since Tuesday in front of the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Madhesh Province, demanding the construction of a new bridge over the Kamala river.

Hulaki road is almost ready. However, as there is no bridge on Kamala river, the distance between Janakpur-Sirha is only 32 km from Hulaki road, but common people have to go to Sira via Dhalkewar-Choharwa. The distance of which is about 100 km.

The Kamala Bridge Construction Committee submitted an ultimatum to Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh on June 27. In the memorandum, the Sangharsh Committee warned that if the demand is not implemented within seven days, they will fast to death in front of the Chief Minister's office.
