Students and teachers of Mahendra Secondary School Manebhanjyang in Khandbari dress up in ethnic costumes on the last Friday of every month. As the culture is disappearing and the ethnic identity is being lost, the school has decided to make ethnic dress mandatory for students and teachers on the last Friday of every month.

Due to the loss of culture due to foreign lifestyles and costumes, teachers and students started wearing ethnic costumes Krishna Bahadur Chapagain, coordinator of the literary and cultural department of the school, said.

He said that he believes that the students will also get information about the customs and culture of other castes. About 300 students come to the school after classes in their costumes. Along with

costumes, a singing program will be held on the last Friday with Newar, Tamang and Rai caste dances. Sanam Thapa, assistant principal of the school, said that this program will be a complete success in the coming days. He said, "The school looked like a colorful garden when the ethnic costumes of different castes were worn."
