The Hurlung-Jalpa-Aiselukhark Baksila road connecting the northern region of the district has been opened. The road, which was blocked by the landslide that occurred in Khorolu on the 20th of August, was opened on Friday afternoon.

Diktel Rupakot Mazhuwagadhi Municipality Deputy Chief Wisan Rai said that the road was opened after the stones piled up by the landslide were removed from Wednesday.

Rai told that it took time to remove the big rocks due to the landslide. After the road connected to the northern region from Hurlung of the Madhyapahari Lokmarg was blocked, the direct traffic connection with the cities of Kepilasgarhi Rural Municipality, Aiselukhark Rural Municipality, Diktel, Kathmandu, Biratnagar and other cities in the northern region was severed.

Village chairman Girendra Bahadur Rai said that roads damaged by landslides are also being repaired in Aiselukhark Rural Municipality. Rai said that 14 of the 16 roads that were blocked in the village have been opened.

'16 roads were blocked in all 7 wards of Aiselukhark' Rai said - '14 of them have been opened, the roads of Jaleshwari and Jamire are yet to be opened, it will take another two to three days.'
