The flight has started from Falgunanda Sukilumba Airport in Ilam. The airport, which has been closed for a few months, has resumed flights from today. Although it was said that the flight would take off last Thursday, the flight did not take place due to lack of passengers.

Dinesh Sundas, in-charge of Nepal Airlines Sukilumba Airport, Ilam, said that the flight started this morning with the arrival of passengers. According to him, six passengers have arrived from Kathmandu for Ilam and eight passengers have left for Kathmandu.

A 27-seat aircraft of Nepal Airlines has taken off from Sukilumba Airport in Ilam Municipality-9. Now it is said that there will be regular flights every Thursday of the week. Passengers have been relieved with the start of flights which have not been held for three and a half months due to bad weather along with the rainy season. As festivals like Dasain Tihar are approaching, the flight has started after the demand to fly from Ilam to Kathmandu.

Since there is no intermediate flight from here, passengers are forced to travel by Bhadrapur in Jhapa and other planes. The flight which has not been held since last May 13 has started. There were flights from Ilam two days a week ie Sunday and Thursday. As one of the two small planes of Nepal Airlines is under repair, it will fly only on Thursdays for some time and after the other plane comes back from repair, it will fly on other days of the week as well. After the airport comes into operation, it will be easy for the residents of neighboring countries like Sikkim, Mirik and other neighboring countries of India to travel to Kathmandu and other places.
