The Agricultural Expo has started from Thursday in Katahari, Morang under the organization of Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, Koshi Province.
The four-day expo was jointly inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, and the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development of the Federal Government, Ramnath Adhikari. He claimed that the government has taken the lead in connecting the private sector to agricultural enterprises by advancing the investment decade and the agriculture decade together.
Chief Minister Karki said that promotion programs will prove important for ensuring investment and modernization in agriculture. Chairman of Mahasangh Koshi Province Rajendra Raut said that the expo was organized with the aim of modernizing subsistence agriculture and making farmers and entrepreneurs join hands.
Federation Vice President Hemraj Dhakal, Federation Vice President Jyotsana Shrestha, outgoing Chief Minister of Koshi Province Kedar Karki, Sahaj Project Team Leader Rima Shrestha and others said that the coordination between the public and private sectors will prove to be a milestone for economic development.
There are 130 stalls from Nepal and India at the expo that will run until Sunday. From Jumla's marsi rice to Elam's kibi juice are on display. 15 agricultural experts from Nepal and India have directly participated in the expo.
