Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has said that every household in Sankhuwasabha should be guaranteed a share of five lakh rupees in Upper Arun.
He also said that the construction work of Upper Arun Hydropower with a capacity of 1,063 megawatts will start soon. Speaking at a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union Sankhuwasabha in Khandbari on Tuesday, he said that the work of Upper Arun will be started soon after securing the resources. He said that the government is taking initiatives to get local participation in the project by arranging loans at low interest rates for the poor and needy families. He clarified that this modality of giving shares to the poor and needy people will be established all over the country.
Minister Khadka, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Sankhuwa Sabha, mentioned that the maximum use of water resources should be made in order to build a prosperous Sankhuwa Sabha. "The government is working to solve the problems encountered during the construction of the project within Sankhuwasabha," he said.
