Asmita Poudel, a 21-year-old mother of Sunderharaicha Municipality-7 Malti Toll, who was absconding after killing her own daughters, Ainka Karki, 1-year-old, and Arpana Karki, 3-years-old, was arrested by the police on Wednesday morning.
The dead bodies of Aingka and Arpana, daughters of 31-year-old Arjun Karki, resident of Dhankuta Pakhribas Municipality-5, residing in Malati Toll of the same Municipality-7, were found in the banana plantation of Sundarharaincha Municipality-7 on Saturday afternoon.
During the investigation of the incident, Arjun's wife Asmita was found and arrested while walking in front of the Everest Bank located on the East West Highway in Jhapa Birtamod Municipality-5 in coordination with the District Police Office Jhapa.
During the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that Asmita had an argument with her husband Arjun Karki on Friday evening about the water supply to the under-construction house.
The police are conducting necessary investigations in this regard after taking permission from the Morang district court for 4 days.
