After the Thame flood, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga and Khotang police, administration and local levels have asked the people living in the coastal areas of Dudhkosi River to be vigilant.

People are advised to stay safe as there is an increased possibility of damage due to floods. The Department of Water and Meteorology has also asked residents to take precautions until further notice.

On Friday, one person went missing and more than a dozen houses were washed away due to the flood that occurred in Bhotekoshi in Thame, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-5. Police said that the identity of the missing person is yet to be revealed.

According to Dwarika Prasad Ghimire, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Solukhumbu, seven houses, five hotels, a school and a clinic were swept away by the flood. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghimire said seven houses in the same area are at risk. According to Solukhumbu police, settlements in coastal areas are at risk due to river erosion.

Security personnel have been deployed at the scene of the incident from police station Thimbuche and Namche. According to the police, the flow of water is decreasing.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghimire said that the cause of the flood in Koshi without rain is being investigated. Locals speculate that the flood in Koshi may have been caused by the bursting of the ice lake above Thame.
