Phulbari-Banglabandh border crossing of Nepal, India and Bhutan has been re-opened. With the opening of the border, the import and export with Bangladesh has become easier.
Containers of molasses stopped at Kankarvitta, the eastern border, are bound for Bangladesh. And Subhas Pandey, head of the Kakarvitta branch office of the Nepal Transport and Warehouse Management Company Limited, said that the containers that were stopped at the border of Bangladesh came to Nepal.
He said, 'With the formation of the interim government in Bangladesh, the import and export with Bangladesh has started to become easier from this July 23.'
According to the
office, in the last year 2080/81, 463 million 3189 thousand items were exported to Bangladesh, while 383 million 68 million 22 thousand items were imported.
