124 absconding defendants arrested

District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Purushottam Khadka said that out of the 212 absconding defendants convicted by the district court till the financial year 2080/81, 124 persons have been arrested.

According to him, those who have yet to pay prison terms ranging from one month to 14 years have been arrested. According to Khadka, even those who have been absconding for 30 years have been arrested.

'A list of 212 fugitive defendants convicted by the court was provided,' Khadka said, '124 of them have been arrested.' 11 months are seven days. Khadka said that 823 thousand 461 fines and 232 thousand 786 compensations were recovered from them. In the financial year 2078/79, 3 persons and 6 absconding defendants were arrested in the financial year 2079/80.

In the financial year 2080/81, two hundred and fifteen incidents were reported by the police. Of these, 37 were sexually related, 15 were for fraud, 17 for banking offences, 7 for forgery of government stamps, 3 for electronic offences, 3 for written offences, 2 for breaching examination standards, 3 for possession of illegal weapons, 2 for drugs, 6 for theft, 1 for arson under criminal nuisance, indecent Behavior 21, animal-related offense 2, vehicular death 2, duty-related death 4, negligent premeditated death 1, killing industry 8, future death 37, death by vehicle 2, suicide by hanging 37, suicide 1 by jumping from a cliff and 1 death by breaking a human skeleton. The police said.

According to DSP Khadka, the number of cases has increased in 2080/81 compared to the financial year 2079/80. According to him, only 178 cases were filed in the financial year 2079/80. In the financial year 2078/79, it is mentioned in the details of the police that 238 cases were registered.
