Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal has said that the government will soon decide on the adjustment of public transport fares. Minister Dahal said this during a discussion on public transport management in the ministry on Wednesday. He said that discussions are being held to adjust the rental rates.
Minister Dahal said that the issue of rent adjustment is the main issue now and he will take a decision soon. He said that there is also discussion about making automatic adjustments according to the increase in the price of fuel. Minister Dahal said that there is a need to adjust the fares of public transport in the package and also instructed the relevant agencies to facilitate the transportation services during the festival by opening tickets in advance.
He said that the federal government will print the remaining 2.1 million driver's licenses and the rest will be done by the state government. He said that the government of Koshi province has started work by arranging temporary cards to solve the problem of license and said that the government is proceeding to arrange temporary cards in other provinces.
He said, 'The subject of rent adjustment is the main thing now. We will decide on this soon. Now let's not take it in one hand and give it in the other. But we are serious about it. It has automatic adjustment. It is also said to increase when the price of fuel increases and decrease when it decreases. It has been two or three years without adjustment. This should be adjusted in one package.' Physical Minister Dahal said that the government is working to facilitate transportation for more passengers.
