Communications and Information Technology Minister Prithvisubba Gurung has said that the postal service should be technology-friendly to make it agile, flexible and reliable.
While inspecting the Goshwara Post Office in Dillibazar on Wednesday, Minister Gurung said that since it is the most sensitive service, it is customer friendly and reliable He instructed the employees to work.
Minister Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the government, assured to solve most of the problems related to postal by making a national postal policy this year.
'Why serve one day a week? The ministry is ready to facilitate. However, operate the truck mail service on a daily basis,' he said.
Emphasizing that all the activities of the post office should be moved to the digital bank (ISeva, QR) payment system, he held the opinion that the structure of the post office should be made according to the standards of the association since the agreement was signed with the World Postal Union.
Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Radhika Aryal said that Goshwara Post Office, which started its service in 1935 under the name of 'Nepal Post Office', has historical significance in itself.
