Now I look after the field work, my husband looks after the accounting and administration work along with the head mason at other sites.'

When Gaumati started getting a side contract on the same road to break stones with a machine in Pahara, the husband and wife started taking contracts for small sections together.

After Ghalemdi, she got the contract for the work of opening 'holes' and walling them with a compressor machine in the 42 megawatt capacity Mistrikhola hydropower project built at the same place. At that time there were 80-90 workers with him. Now there are 30 workers on his site. The contract contractor Gaumati, who lives with the same workers, is also satisfied with the work of the big businessmen and the technicians of the regulatory bodies.
