Speaker Devraj Ghimire has called the National Party (Nepali Congress, CPN UML, CPN Maoist Center, Rashtriya Swatantra Party and Rashtriya Prajatantra Party) for a meeting at Singhdarbar today at 11 am.
A meeting of the House of Representatives has been called at 1 pm on Sunday. Speaker Ghimire called the parties for a discussion after the main opposition party CPN-Maoist Center said they would disrupt the House of Representatives meeting.
Maoists have said that they will block the meeting until the word 'violence' is removed in the House of Representatives. Assembly speaker Devraj Ghimire ruled that the term 'Maoist armed violence' used by UML MP Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai in the House of Representatives meeting on August 12 was not unparliamentary.
The meeting of the Maoist Parliamentary Party held on Friday, mentioning that they were trying to insult the 'Maoist people's war', the Speaker decided not to allow the meeting to continue until it was decided that the word 'violence' is not unparliamentary.
