The ruling UML has given the responsibility of the parliamentary party to take a decision regarding Deputy Speaker Indira Ranamar's actions against the dignity of office.
In the secretariat meeting held on Friday at the Party Central Office, Lalitpur Chaisal, the questions raised about the Deputy Speaker were discussed, but no conclusion was reached. General Secretary Shankar Pokharel said that since it is a matter of Parliament, the decision taken by the party will be supported.
The deputy speaker himself should clarify the questions raised. If true then it is clear that he is not suitable for that position. We have not reached a conclusion on what to do," he told reporters after the meeting. "It is a matter for the Parliament. The party has full support for the work done by the parliamentary party in the parliament.
He said that it is not time to review the government and he said that he is focused on creating a common program of the ruling party. It is not time to start reviewing the work of the government. However, after the formation of the government under the leadership of Chairman KP Sharma Oli, the party has given hope to the people, he said.
