Three people, including Bhupendra Budha, the vice president of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, died when a government jeep going from Kathmandu to East Rukum met with an accident on the Madhyapahari Lokmarg.

61-year-old Gopimaya Budha's mother and Jasbir Sirpali, president of Ward No. 2, died in an accident on Friday morning. In the incident, a pick-up number 1 Jh 200 fell down 300 meters from the road in Bhunkhani of Ward No. 2 of Galkot Municipality. Locals informed the police after seeing it at 10 o'clock.

Police inspector Pratap Poudel said that the police who arrived with the public representatives immediately rescued the injured and sent them for treatment. The driver, 29-year-old Prem Bahadur Pun, who was seriously injured in the incident, was sent to Pokhara for further treatment after CT scan at Dhaulagiri Hospital.

Galkot Municipality Ward No. 2 Ward Chairman Hemant Bhandari led by the rescue team identified Bhupendra on the basis of his identity card. Gopimaya's identity is revealed through citizenship. Since there is no identity document, the identity of deceased ward chairman Sirpali was revealed by an acquaintance. Police inspector Pratap Poudel also informed that the identity was revealed on the basis of the identity card. The body of the deceased has been taken to Galkot Nagar Hospital.

A week ago, Vice President Budha went to Kathmandu for her dental treatment and her mother's health check-up. On Thursday morning, Ward Chairman Sirpali was also involved in the incident when he was returning from a meeting. According to the police, the initial investigation showed that the driver was tired after long journey and driving all night. Locals of Rukum East also speculated that the vice president was in a hurry to prepare for the meeting of the executive and that he traveled all night. Lately, after starting to go to Kathmandu via Baglung, the vehicles from Rukum and Jajarkot are traveling in the middle of the hill. People's representatives also travel through Baglung.
