Under the temptation of sending them to Canada on a working visa, Pari Bashundhara-based Jojo Human Resource Manpower has defrauded 25 Yuba people of a large sum of money. Sandeep Neupane, the owner of the manpar, has been out of touch after charging Rs 16 to 22 lakh per person.

On September 15 (Bhad 30) and on September 22 (Azoj 6) 15 youths were taken to Canada by Neupane, who took money from the youth and became uncontactable.

15 young people on the list to go to Canada were called for 'orientation' on Friday. However, when the youth reached the Manpower office on Friday, after finding that the office was closed and Neupane was uncontactable, they reached the police circle in Maharajgunj. Bishnu Khadka of Melung rural municipality-5 Aru Khodka of Dolakha, who paid the money to the manpower operator Neupane 5 months before going to Canada, said that he reported to the police after realizing that he was cheated. "Manpower charged us between 16 to 22 lakh rupees per person to send us to Canada on working visa, for that we were called for orientation as the ship ticket was also finalized," the victim Khadka told Kantipur, "but we were cheated to send us to Canada. We just got to know.' Another young man said that he raised the amount. The young man had paid 1.6 million rupees to Neupane, the operator of Manpower only on Thursday. Last time, it is suspected that the Manpar ran away with an amount of 6 to 80 million, saying that he would send it to different countries.

It is suspected that at least 4.5 million was raised just by going to Canada. However, since he has not been arrested, the police said that more facts are yet to be revealed. DSP Rabindranath Paudel of Maharajgunj circle said that the youths who had paid money to Manpower to go to Canada came in contact with them on Friday evening saying that they had been cheated.

He advised to file a fraud complaint with the Foreign Employment Department, but the police have been deployed to search for the person who absconded with the money. "The police have been deployed to search for the absconding person, let us know if you have any information, we have asked you to submit the detailed documentation related to the fraud to the Foreign Employment Department," DSP Paudel said.
