On the day of Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, Vartalu, who had fasted for the Haritalika (Teej) festival, worshiped Devadhideva Mahadev on Friday, completed the fast at Godan, Purnapatragari this morning.

Generally, other fasts are completed in the evening on the same day, but Haritalika (Teez) fast is a classical tradition to be done only in the morning the next day. Vartalu, who perform puja in the evening of Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, also have food only after the fast is over in the morning of Chaturthi.

The festival of Teej, which officially starts on Thursday night, is celebrated till Rishipanchami. Teej concludes with Haritalika fasting on the third day, worship of Lord Ganesha on the fourth day and worship of Saptarishi along with Arundhati on the fifth day.

It is a religious belief that if you fast and worship Shiva Parvati on Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, you will get happiness, peace and well-being.
