A child was killed and a woman was injured when a passenger bus hit a pedestrian in Ghandakot in East Nawalparasi.

Gandakot Municipality-10, The said accident occurred when a passenger bus No. 7 B 2525, which was going from Narayangadh to Kawasoti, hit the East-West highway at Bhaisakhori.

According to the district police office, 7-year-old Bishal Shrestha, son of Pushparaj Shrestha of Gaindakot municipality-11, died on the spot. Bishal was with maternal grandmother Srimaya Manandhar . Shrimaya was injured in the bus collision.

He is being treated at Old Medical College Bharatpur for his stomach and head injuries. The driver and the vehicle involved in the accident have been taken into custody by the police.
