Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma is retiring from this August 24 after completing his three-year tenure. He has served in the Nepali Army for about 42 years. Sharma was given an honorable farewell on Wednesday in a special ceremony held at the military headquarters, Jangi Adda.

In the program, Chief of Army Staff General Rathi Ashokraj Sigdel said that he was very impressed by Maharathi Sharma's balanced life and modest style, his ability to deal with complex situations objectively.

He said that the determination and dedication shown by him to raise the credit and reputation of the Nepali Army to a higher level will always be alive in the history of the Nepali Army.

Commander-in-Chief Sharma mentioned that leadership change is a regular process in the Nepali Army and said that the implementation of long-term plans and other organizational achievements during his tenure were possible due to the collective efforts of the whole class.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Defense and all related parties for their continuous support, cooperation and constructive suggestions in institutional strengthening and various positive efforts during his tenure. On that occasion, Kamupradhansenapati Sigdel presented a gift to Sharma as a memento.
