The Medical Education Commission has released the revised results correcting the error in the MBBS entrance exam results. According to the commission, the merit order of the students who obtained the same marks should be maintained on the basis of 'tiebreak', since it was done on the basis of roll number.

The commission has admitted that there was a technical error in the public MBBS results on Friday. "Due to a technical error, the merit order of the candidates with the same score should be maintained on the basis of the tie-break, so the previously published results have been revised according to the Commission's records, and as per the decision of the joint meeting of the Executive Committee of the Medical Education Commission and the Integrated Entrance Examination Committee, the basis of the tie-break has also been published," Deputy Secretary of the Commission. Dhan Bahadur Shrestha said in the notification.

A list was published on the basis of roll number in which merit should be maintained on the basis of the marks obtained in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics respectively when the examinees get the same marks. Krishna Prasad Kapri, member secretary of the commission, said that the error was caused by human weakness rather than malice. The Commission has admitted that there was an error. As soon as it became known that there was a weakness, the meeting of the commission and the examination committee was left and the results were corrected, he said. It is estimated that the result of about 3000 students has changed based on the

result tie-break. According to the commission, only the merit order of the candidates who obtained the same marks in the revised results has been changed. The notification issued by Deputy Secretary Shrestha also states that the merit order of other candidates remains the same and there is no change in the marks obtained by all the examinees. Vice President Anjani Kumar Jha said that the commission decided to allow interested students to see the answer sheets and OMR sheets after the examinees raised questions about the credibility of the examination and the question paper.

After the error in the MBBS results became public, the Co-Chairperson of the Commission and Education Minister Vidya Bhattarai discussed with the officials. According to the Ministry of Education, on Monday, the vice-chairman of the commission, including Jha, the directors and officials of the examination committee were questioned. The official informed Minister Bhattarai that the error occurred due to human weakness. The public health result published by the commission was also corrected after an error.

One student's roll number and another student's name were published in the result of the said subject.
