Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal has said that the government has moved forward to complete the Narayangadh-Butwal road work as soon as possible. In a press conference organized by Press Chautari Nepal Chitwan branch here today, he said that the government has moved forward to complete the work within one year.

Minister Dahal expressed his belief that the work would be done accordingly as there was an agreement with the construction company to complete the work within one year. It has been a long time since the construction of the road started, but looking at the progress, it has been found that only 54/55 percent of the work has been done. We have extended the deadline by one year, now the work should be completed in the same period,' he said.

Minister Dahal said that there is no problem on the part of the Nepal government for the construction of this road, which is a main highway. Progress is now being made as there are frequent discussions with the contractor company to complete the work quickly.'

He made it clear that after the rains, the speed of work will be monitored and if the speed of work cannot be increased, the government will look for an alternative contractor. Minister Dahal said, 'As soon as the rains are over, if they are not able to proceed with the work at a fast pace, we will have to break the contract and we may have to give another option. We wish that this should not be done.'

Likewise, he informed that the government is preparing to issue licenses with QR codes. Stating that the responsibility of license distribution lies with the state government, he said that currently 2 million licenses are in the process of being issued and five lakh licenses have been issued. Minister Dahal opined that the problems seen in the transport sector will be solved because it is clear what the federal, state and local governments will do.

Secretary of the Ministry Keshav Kumar Sharma said that the work will start after the rains for the study of the railway. He said that the locals are getting angry due to problems such as the bank not disbursing loans, land not being bought and sold, even though the railway line is laid out. Secretary Sharma said that the ministry will build the railway only after addressing the demands of the locals.
