Rathayatra of Bhagwati in Palpa: Thousands of devotees wake up

Bhagwati's Rath Yatra has been taking place in Tansen every year on the day of Bhadra Krishna Navami to commemorate the Nepal-British war. Hundreds of devotees participated in Rath Yatra's vigil at midnight with the sound of cheers . According to the police, there is a participation of devotees in the Bhagwati temple complex of Bhagwati tol located in Palpa Tansen-3, who take darshan of Bhagwati at midnight and participate in the Jagram when the chariot is started .

Ashok Maharjan, chairman of the temple management committee, said that the crowd did not decrease until midnight due to the fireworks and the dance. In commemoration of the victory of Colonel Ujirsinh Thapa in Nuwakot (Palpa) Jitgarhi fort during the Nepal-British war, Bhagwati's chariot procession has been taken out at Tansen Bazar for 205 years . In the midnight of Krishna Ashtami, sheep and goats are sacrificed along with worship. After circumambulating the temple three times, the chariot is placed in front of the temple for the chariot procession.

Descendants of the then stationed colonel also offered pooja.

Prakash Gangol, secretary of the Bhagwati Temple Management Committee, said that Bhagwati's Rathjatra, which started in Vikram Samvat 1877, has continued till now.
