Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba who is visiting India and Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar discussed the issue of strengthening Nepal-India relations and increasing bilateral cooperation.

In the bilateral conversation held between Rana and Jaishankar at Hyderabad House on Monday afternoon, the Nepali Embassy in Delhi said, "There was a discussion on strengthening Nepal-India relations and enhancing bilateral cooperation".

Also, writing to X after the meeting, Foreign Minister Rana said that the meeting with Jaishankar was fruitful. She mentioned that bilateral interests, various aspects of Nepal-India relations and mutual cooperation were discussed in the meeting. I am confident that this visit will further strengthen the century-old relationship between Nepal and India, said Minister Rana. After the

meeting, Xma Jaishankar mentioned that he was happy to welcome Rana on his first official foreign visit .

Rana went to Delhi on the official invitation of Jayashkar. 'There was a discussion about multifaceted cooperation including energy, trade, connectivity and infrastructure development,' Jaishankar posted, 'Nepal is happy that about 1000 megawatts of electricity will be exported to India, this is a new milestone.' During Dahal's visit to India, India agreed to import 10,000 megawatts of electricity from Nepal.

Jaishankar has mentioned that India's neighbor first policy and long population and cultural ties will advance the relationship between India and Nepal .

On behalf of Nepal, Rana, Acting Ambassador of Nepal to India Surendra Thapa, Head of South Asia Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bhrigu Dhungana and others were present on behalf of Nepal, while Minister Jaishankar, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vikram Misri, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava and others were present on the side of India.

After the bilateral meeting, Jayanshakar gave lunch to Rana . Rana is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7:30 pm on Monday.
