Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada has said that the controversy over the letter written by Deputy Speaker Indira Rana to the US Embassy to postpone the visa interviews of five people should be investigated. Congress MP Khatiwada has demanded that Deputy Speaker Rana should sit outside Parliament and assist in the investigation until the parliamentary inquiry is conducted.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, MP Khatiwada said that there should be an investigation into the letter written by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament.

'Five people who have no signature with Parliament received a letter used for US visa interviews, in such a situation the Deputy Speaker should command the Parliament or not?,' he said.

Khatiwada said that the Deputy Speaker wrote a letter by mixing it up with the fact that the Parliament Secretariat should have its own procedure if the Parliament has to go on a foreign tour.

'Not only Parliament but the country was insulted . In such a situation, instead of pretending to be defensive, we should help by sitting outside the parliament,' he said.

He said that the Deputy Speaker's office cannot be a consultancy to facilitate visas.
