The PP Prasai Foundation established in the memory of the founder of Nataraj Travels and famous tourism businessman Prajapati Prasai on Thursday awarded teachers, schools and others who contributed in the field of education and tourism.

Late Shyam Bahadur Pandey was posthumously honored with the PP Prasai Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award by Education, Science and Technology Minister Bidya Bhattarai at a ceremony held in the capital for his contribution to Nepal's tourism business for nearly five decades.

Pandey is the former president of Hotel Association Nepal, the founder of Shangrila Hotel and a leading figure in the Nepali tourism sector. Likewise, Prasad Dahal, the matriarch of Fikkal Secondary School in Koshi Province, and Janata Secondary School from Madhesh Province, won the Outstanding Teacher Award of Rs 50,000-2081 this year. School, Ram Kripal Mahato of Siraha, Ambika Dhital of Mahendragram Secondary School from Bagmati Province and Santosh Acharya of Machhapuchhre Secondary School from Gandaki Province were also honoured.

Similarly, Kalika Manavijjana Secondary School from Lumwini Province, Yuvraj Kandel from Butwal, Amarjyoti Secondary School from Karnali Province, Ashok Kumar Rai from Surkhet and Chandrakala Dawadi from Saraswati Secondary School from Sudurpaschim Province have also been awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award of Rs 50,000-2081. ;.

Minister Bhattarai presented the incentive award to the National Basic School at the ceremony. Every year, the foundation has been providing one lakh cash along with the National Excellent School Award to teachers who have made special contributions in the field of education .
