Highlights

  • On the one hand, there is a budget problem in Gaurav's project, on the other hand, the preparatory work is also not effective, even the rapid transfer of project heads has not seen any progress in the work.
  • Expenditure on railways, water supply, roads and irrigation projects increased significantly

The government declared 17 projects of national pride in the financial year 068/69. Four projects were added in 070/71. One more Gaurav project each was announced in 075/76, 076/77 and 077/78. The construction of some of these projects has been completed, while some have been placed under Gaurav's project, but there is still confusion about going into construction.

A few important projects were selected and announced as Gauravka projects with the aim of progressing the construction faster and easier than other projects. So that such projects do not have budget problems, the problems that arise during construction should be solved immediately. But now the biggest problem is in this project, where the construction work has not been able to accelerate due to the incompleteness of the preparatory work and the lack of sufficient budget.

In some projects, the compensation has not been distributed due to lack of sufficient budget allocation. Decades have passed since construction began on some projects, but progress has not increased. There has been a problem in speeding up the work of the project despite the change of the ministers leading the project. "There was not enough budget for the project, payments could not be made for the completed projects, some projects have been delayed due to the construction industry," said Sushilbabu Dhakal, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

is not only this, but the government has not given it the first priority even though it is called Gaurav's project. On the other hand, the heads of irrigation projects also have the same voice, "Everyone wants progress." But the budget is not enough. There is still confusion about the railway construction, even after 26 years since the start of the Melamchi water supply project, the valley has not been able to get water reliably.
