Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that during his tenure in the government, many laws, laws and policies have been changed to create an investment-friendly environment.

On the second day of the closing ceremony of the 5th Nepal Infrastructure Conference, 2024, organized by the Confederation of Nepal Industry and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, it was remembered that he also held an investment conference last April to attract investment in the country.

"I have done a lot of work to bring in foreign direct investment and create an investment-friendly environment for investment from the private sector of the country," he said. He believed that the infrastructure conference organized by the

confederation will also play a more positive role in increasing economic activity and construction. Dahal said that even though there are political changes in the country, they have not been able to create a comfortable environment for economic activity and construction. "We are trying to create a comfortable environment for economic development amid political changes," he said.

In the two-day infrastructure conference, 12 sessions related to infrastructure were conducted. In the years 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2022, the Confederation held the Nepal Infrastructure Conference in partnership with the Government of Nepal (Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Energy), Investment Board, Youth Community for Nepalese Contractors (YCNC) and others.

At the closing ceremony of the infrastructure conference, which started on Thursday, the president of the Confederation, Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, said that the debates in the conference will lead to the right direction in the field of infrastructure development. He said that strategic measures have been identified for the sustainable development of the country. He said that infrastructure plans should be prepared not only financially but also environmentally, including climate change. At the

conference, Sushil Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board, said that the board is working to promote investment and private-public partnership. He said that the proposal to revise the business plan strategy of the board was also signed on Friday. According to the government's 16th plan, the board will prepare investment targets and proceed accordingly. Virender Pandey, vice president of the Confederation, said that innovation, financial resource measures, coordination between the government and the private sector, and policy challenges were discussed in different sessions of the

conference. During the two-day discussion of the conference, various dimensions of infrastructure development under sustainable development were discussed, said Keshav Sharma, secretary of the Ministry of Physical Sciences.
