According to the data of the Customs Department, sarees worth Rs 12 crore more were imported in July of this year compared to July of last financial year. In the last financial year, sarees, lungis and dhoti worth Rs 3.51 billion were imported. Last year, saris came from various countries including India, China, Indonesia, America, UK. 78 lakh 63 thousand 79 saris worth 3 billion 44 crore 42 lakh rupees came from India alone. According to the department, saree worth Rs 3 crore 81 lakh 92 thousand was imported from China.
