Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has given instructions to solve the problems seen in the extension of the transmission line of the Arun 3rd hydropower project.

In a 'virtual meeting' with the Arun 3rd hydropower project, investment board and chief district officers of five districts, Minister Khadka instructed everyone to focus on solving the problem.

'Even if the time of electricity production is delayed by just one day, the state has to bear the loss of crores, as it will affect the project and the whole country, it should start solving the small problems so that it is completed on time', he said.

Energy Minister Khadka said that since the government has set a target of producing 28,500 megawatts of electricity in Nepal by 2035, the contribution of the project, chief district officer and the investment board is important to fulfill this target. He emphasized that the problem should be resolved by collaborating with local people's representatives and construction companies.

'I believe that the chief district officer will identify where there are obstacles to move the project forward, who are the people related to it', Minister Khadka said. He said that the local government should also help to solve the problems seen at the local level.

Energy Minister Khadka said that as the Prime Minister is also interested and worried about the progress of the Arun 3rd hydropower project, it should be completed on time. He said that for the overall development of the energy sector, the private sector should be taken forward.
