Nepal's employer organization, Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce and Trade Union has established a forum to resolve labor related issues. In this regard, it was agreed in the meeting held at Federation Secretariat, Teku, Kathmandu last Thursday.

In the meeting, the president of Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that employer-employee relations are improving in the country recently. Dhakal said that there should be cooperation and coordination between employers and workers to solve any future challenges. In the

meeting, Yogendra Kunwar, Chairman of the Joint Trade Union Coordination Center (JTUCC) reviewed the memorandum of understanding last November and identified ways to reduce the challenges that may arise bilaterally in the coming days. He said that it is necessary to increase the role of both sides.

Likewise, Vinod Shrestha, President of the Federation of Nepal Trade Unions (JFNT), said that it is necessary to establish a vision to save the industry and organize the labor market. "Remembering the bilateral agreement, it is necessary to build a working committee and move forward with the programs mentioned in that agreement," he said.

The Vice President of the Federation and the Chairperson of the Employers' Council, Jyotsana Shrestha emphasized that the agreement reached last November should be implemented soon and a discussion meeting should be held on the issue of determining the minimum wage on the basis of sector, productivity etc. with the agreement of both parties.
