The Ministry of Finance has agreed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to submit a proposal to the Council of Ministers to invest 600 million rupees in the dairy development institute with certain conditions. The Dairy Development Institute can use this amount for the time being to pay the remaining amount of milk to the farmers.

For the current financial year, as there is a budget of Rs 1 crore under the name of Dairy Development Institute, it has been agreed to submit a proposal to the Cabinet to transfer an additional amount of Rs 59 crore from the allocated amount to the Ministry of Agriculture and invest a total of Rs 600 crore in loans . After the proposal is approved by the cabinet, the government will invest in the institute as a loan.

Farmers have been demanding for payment saying that they have not received the payment of milk from the Dairy Development Institute . The matter of paying the remaining amount of milk to the farmers was discussed between Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Agriculture Minister Ram Nath Adhikari, and Dairy Development Institute officials.
