Kathmandu-based Thames International College has organized a two-day Nepal Social Work Conference-2024. In the program organized on Thursday and Friday in the college premises, old Baneshwar, panel discussions, photographs and art exhibitions were held on various topics.


Inaugurating the program, the president of the college, Rajendraman Sherchan, informed that the college has been conducting the program annually for the past 8 years with the aim of bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss various issues of the society. The first day of the

program Journalist Narayan Wagle gave a special address in the plenary session titled 'Journalism to Permaculture'.

He especially expressed his views about the agricultural work he has done recently to protect the soil and environment. Similarly, the students staged a play. On the first day itself, the film screening of 'Aina Jhyalko Putli' was discussed.

On the second day, political analyst Ujwal Prasai made a special presentation on the topic of 'Messiah seeking or collectivity'. On the same day, Shaili Chaudhary discussed various aspects of tribal identity. In the final session of the second day, the panel on 'Identity Politics and Youth' was attended by Indu Tharu, Rita Shah, JV Vishwakarma and journalist Kamaldev Bhattarai. In that discussion, various aspects of the identity movement in Nepal were discussed.
