82 people died on Tuesday afternoon due to the super typhoon Yagi in the northern region of Vietnam and the subsequent floods and landslides. Another 64 people are missing, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
19 people died and 36 people went missing in the Himalayan province of Khao Bang. It is said that 19 people from Lao Cai Province, 22 from Yen Bai Province, and 9 from Quang Ninh Province were killed.
Other deaths were from the capital Hanoi, Hai Phong city, Hoa Binh, Hai Duong, Long Son, Tuen Quang, Ha Giang and Lai Chau provinces.
According to the dike management and disaster prevention and control department of the ministry, typhoon Yagi with strong winds has damaged 48 thousand 337 houses in the coastal province of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong city. It is estimated that the flow of water will increase on Tuesday and Wednesday in the northern region.
