Four people were killed, 28 people were rescued and many others were trapped when a building collapsed in Lucknow's Transport Nagar area on Saturday.

Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar has confirmed the death of four people. 'So far 28 people have been rescued. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), fire brigade and police are conducting rescue operations at the spot, Lucknow Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh told ANI.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Mangesh Kumar said that it is suspected that many more people are trapped in the collapsed building.

The rescue operation of the stranded people is continuing. Fire department, NDRF and SDRF teams are at the spot. The injured are being sent to the hospital. More details are yet to come.
