Chief Justice of Bangladesh Obedul Hasan has resigned. Chief Justice Hasan resigned from the post after protesting students surrounded the Supreme Court on Saturday.

The anti-discrimination protesting students protested in the Supreme Court premises and demanded the resignation of the Chief Justice and the judges of the Court of Appeal.

According to the Bangladeshi news organization ' Daily Sun ', Chief Justice Hasan announced his resignation as the students surrounded the Supreme Court and demanded his resignation.

Accusing Chief Justice Hasan of working in favor of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the students surrounded the Supreme Court and gave an ultimatum to resign by 1 o'clock on Saturday.

In Bangladesh, the movement has not stopped even after the formation of an interim government led by the Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, with the participation of protesting students. The student protestors suspected that Chief Justice Hasan was working in favor of former Prime Minister Hasina from the court to overthrow the interim government.
