Kundanraj Kafle, Minister of Economic Affairs of Bagmati Province and central member of Nepali Congress, has said that democracy should be institutionalized for the better development of citizens. Addressing a program organized by Samvad Kendra in Kathmandu regarding the 111th BP Jayanti, Minister Kafle also mentioned that the Congress should contribute more to the institutional development of democracy brought under the leadership of the Nepali Congress.

Mentioning that the basic principle of BP, who is also the founder of Congress, is democracy and freedom of speech, Minister Kafle said that only if democracy is strengthened, there will be happiness among the people. He says that democracy is indispensable for the economic progress of the country. Kafle mentioned that since the state is unable to sympathize with the problems of the citizens, now the Congress should focus on the problems of the citizens. 'Citizens have many problems. There are also complaints. Still the state has not been able to realize the needs of the citizens,' said Minister Kafle, 'the state should assume the guardianship of the citizens. Dealing with citizens' issues is the real essence of democracy.'

Mentioning that the work that the state can do regarding education, health, and employment is not being done at present, Minister Kafle said that the Congress should now focus on the political issues of the country and the economic progress of the people. He said that there is not only a problem, but the Congress also has solutions.
