  • Aim to produce reaper and thresher machines within three months

The Birgunj-based agricultural implement factory, which has been operating for 21 months by the National Innovation Center, has started its homework to start commercial production within three months.

According to Ritesh Dev, the engineer of the center working in the factory, plans have been made for commercial production of rice cutting machine reaper and rice threshing machine thresher.

'We are working with the goal of producing a reaper and thresher machine within the next three months,' said Engineer Dev, 'for that, we have recently introduced a CNC laser machine at a cost of 50 million rupees in the factory, this automatic machine will produce the steel required for the production of agricultural equipment. He also said that the production of agricultural equipment can be done at a faster pace.

He also said that there is a plan to add twice as much manpower to the factory as before starting commercial production. At present, 25 people are working in the factory, and there is a plan to add 25 more people . At present, the manpower working in the factory consists of 7 Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineers, 1 Mechanical Overseer and the remaining Fabricator Technicians . Among the total manpower there are half a dozen Parsa and Baraka .

Since January 1, 2079, the center has taken over this factory from the government of Nepal and is operating it. Engineer Dev says that the center has spent 25 million rupees so far on the operation of the factory and the founder of the center, Mahavir Pun, has collected about 10 million rupees by selling his autobiography book.

The agricultural implement factory which was laid the foundation stone in 2024 by the then King Mahendra was closed in 2049 after it became ill after 2047. Complaining that the Nepalese government did not give 20 million rupees to operate the factory as promised, the director of the center has again embarked on a campaign to collect the amount by selling his autobiography book. During this process, he has said that he has already lost about 10 crore rupees. Pun, who is currently in Bara while selling

books, is now planning to go to East . By the time he reached Bara, he had completed a book sale campaign in 36 districts. So far, the center has produced a successful trial of a weeder machine that works like a reaper for cutting rice, a digger for digging potatoes, a planter for planting potatoes, a planter for planting rice, a dung dewatering for collecting dung, a mulcher for making plastic, cutting dry grass, plowing rice, digging etc . Apart from this, the center has also been producing small agricultural tools like hoe, spade, arc cutter etc.
